I’ve been sent this link by a friend. It’s about an (in my opinion) underrated band called The Fall. The story is more or less them in a nutshell. By “them” I actually mean Mark E. Smith and your grandma on bongos.
If that kind of thing sounds interesting, Slates would be good place to start. It has a great uniform tone and has the core elements of The Fall in it: simplicity, repetition and one angry asshole.
