Reserved for women?

This is something interesting I found in Bern, Switzerland last Sunday in a parking lot.
\"Reserviert für Frauen\"
If you can understand basic German, this sign seems awfully suspicious. “Reserved for women” (I think?) Parking spots reserved for women?

    This is true also in Germany. Some parking lots are reserved exclusively for women. Usually they are located close to the entrance/exit and lit well – for women that are afraid of being harassed.
    If you take a closer look at the women parking there you will ask yourself “who would ever harass them” :-)

    @Charlie: Switzerland is not Germany!
