Crappy New Wave Covers
It all started last year when some random idiot decided to make a cover of Foreigner’s most well known song - “I want to know what love is”. The cover was perhaps the most terrible cover I heard. My ears began bleeding uncontrolably. It was a terrible experience after which I found listening to the original song emotionally impossible. Whatever I’d do, I’d just sort of “go back” to the crappy cover.
Then there was Eminem (yet another idiot) who decided that taking “Toy Soldiers” (by Martika if I recall correctly) and creating a brand new hit and just change the lyrics would be the best idea ever. And so he did, and it revoked the same reaction in me as did the “I want to know what love is” cover.
Let’s not forget the terrible cover of the old Jewish folk song “If I was a richman” (only under the name “If I was a richgirl“). Also, I recall hearing some Sting cover (”The shape of my heart”). It pisses me off, but It’s not really New Wave, so it’s sort of off topic.
Are you one of those people who ruin new wave songs? I have the following message for you: please die, commit suicide or have someone else kill you for me. Go compose your own music - music isn’t just lyrics (or should I say good music isn’t just lyrics). Thanks.
Ugh, I just hate contemporary music.
